This is my latest project! Actually I just came up with it today and it needs to be done by next Friday for my mother-in-law's birthday. I've not actually completed a quilt yet so this will be my first one (I'm still waiting on fabric for the other quilts I'm working on). Anyway, I purchased some muslin and asked the lady at the store to cut them into 5" squares. Then I bought some fabric crayons, fabric printer paper and some freezer paper. Once I got home I had my boys each draw and color a picture onto two squares of muslin. Once that was done I ironed the drawings to set them into the fabric. This is where the freezer paper came in. I kept a sheet on the back of each piece of muslin while I ironed it. Then! I picked out four photographs of the boys and their cousins and printed them out onto the fabric printer paper I bought. Once that was done I went into my "stash" of charm packs and chose a pack that would match the boys' drawings and "Flower Power" is what I cam up with. It's gonna be cute. I can't wait until it's finished and we can give it to their Grammie. Here are some photos of it so far. Nothing has been sewn yet. That'll start tomorrow.
I LOVE QUILTING!!! And fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, because of the entrepreneur in me, this will be yet ANOTHER shop that I open in order to help raise funds for our adoption. Yes, that will be three shops A Bun In The Oven Maternity & Baby (although, my store front is missing suddenly from this shop....have no idea what happened to it), ETC Jewelry and then there will be????? Not sure what I will call the quilt/blankie/lovey shop but I'm sure it'll cause me great stress in coming up with the name, as usual : ) Anyway, here are the photos.......
Have a great weekend!!!!!
